iPhone 18 Pro Launch Updates and Features
Apple is anticipated to unveil the new iPhones, specifically the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, in September 2026. As the date approaches, various insights regarding enhancements and changes are emerging, providing an early look at Apple’s plans for these new devices.
According to a report from 9to5Mac, the iPhone 18 Pro series is set to feature multiple upgrades, which include a redesigned exterior, improved cameras, and larger batteries. Below is a summary of what to look forward to in the latest iPhone 18 Pro models.
iPhone 18 Pro Series: What to Anticipate
Design
It is reported that the iPhone 18 Pro models will maintain similar size and dimensions. However, the front is expected to include a more compact dynamic island, a cohesive appearance on the rear, and new colour arrangements.
The smartphones may also feature under-display Face ID components, leading to a reduction in the size of the display cutout. Additionally, three new colour variants are expected: Deep Purple, Burgundy and Coffee Brown.
Battery
A separate report from 9to5Mac cited a leaker from Weibo, indicating that the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max might have a bulkier design, potentially exceeding 240 grams in weight. This thicker design could facilitate larger batteries, providing users with more hours of usage compared to the iPhone 17 Pro models.
Camera
Apple is also rumoured to introduce camera enhancements for the iPhone 18 Pro lineup. Reports suggest that these models may incorporate a variable aperture in the primary camera, allowing users enhanced control over depth-of-field in photography. Further, a broader aperture telephoto camera could be part of the upgrade.
It is also expected that Apple will enhance the Camera Control button on the new iPhone 18 series, introducing new capabilities and features. While specifics are yet to be confirmed, improvements may include advanced camera shortcuts, innovative touch or gesture controls, refined manual camera settings, or AI-enhanced camera interactions.
A20 Pro Chip and C2 Modem
The iPhone 18 Pro models are likely to be driven by the A20 Pro chip, engineered using a 2nm process, and may also incorporate WMCM (Wafer-Level Multi-Chip Module) packaging. This will likely lead to significant performance enhancements. Furthermore, Apple may integrate the C2 modem for improved 5G connectivity.
