Vivo has officially revealed the launch date for its next-generation foldable smartphone, the X Fold5, scheduled to debut on June 25 at 7pm Beijing time (4:30pm IST). The event will also showcase the vivo TWS Air3 Pro wireless earbuds.

Early Bookings and Special Offers

Prior to its official launch, vivo has initiated early bookings for the X Fold5 through its official online store and various partner retailers in China. Prospective customers can secure the device by making a deposit of CNY 10 (approximately ₹120) and will receive a benefits package valued at CNY 277 (around ₹3,300).

Specifications and Features

Although complete specifications have yet to be confirmed, leaks indicate that the X Fold5 will feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, with options for up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The device is anticipated to showcase 8T LTPO OLED displays, comprising an 8.03-inch main screen and a 6.53-inch cover screen.

Enhanced Durability

Vivo has highlighted considerable enhancements compared to its predecessor, claiming that the X Fold5 will be lighter, thinner, and stronger. Moreover, it will introduce industry-first IP5X dust resistance, along with the existing IPX8, IPX9, and IPX9+ water resistance, establishing new durability benchmarks for foldable smartphones.

Unique Features for Users

The X Fold5 will mark a significant milestone as the first Android smartphone to provide direct access to Apple iCloud. Users will be able to sign in to their Apple ID through the integrated file manager, enabling them to access, view, edit, and synchronise iCloud photos, files, and Apple Notes in real time.

Furthermore, the X Fold5 will facilitate cross-device connectivity with iPhones, allowing users to read text messages and verification codes sent to their iPhone right on the foldable device, as well as answer iPhone calls directly using the X Fold5.
