Xiaomi 16 Launch Expected Soon with Cutting-Edge Features
Xiaomi 16 is anticipated to be unveiled as early as September in China, arriving ahead of last year’s October launch. Recent leaks from reliable source Smart Pikachu on Weibo suggest that the Xiaomi 16 will be an impressive device featuring several significant enhancements compared to its predecessor.
Xiaomi 16 Equipped with Powerful Chipset
The standout feature of Xiaomi 16 is expected to be its chipset. This smartphone is rumoured to be the first to showcase Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 SoC. This chipset is believed to offer a 30% increase in GPU performance and a 25% improvement in CPU efficiency when placed alongside the previous model. Key upgrades include a boosted 16MB GPU cache and compatibility with LPDDR6 or LPDDR5X RAM.
Massive Battery Capacity in Xiaomi 16
Xiaomi 16 will reportedly come with a substantial 6800mAh battery, a significant enhancement from the 5400mAh unit found in Xiaomi 15. The device is projected to support 100W wired fast charging for swift power-ups.
Sleek Design with Improved Display
Design features suggest that the Xiaomi 16 will keep a thin and lightweight profile, even with the larger battery installed. Leaked information indicates a flat OLED display approximately 6.32 inches in size, which is slightly smaller than the Xiaomi 15’s 6.36-inch screen. There have been mentions of Xiaomi testing display sizes up to 6.73 inches for this series.
Advanced Camera Setup with Leica Technology
When it comes to photography, Xiaomi 16 is likely to come equipped with a Leica-supported triple rear camera system, led by a 50MP sensor. The standard version may also include a periscope telephoto lens, a feature usually exclusive to the Pro variants within the series.
HyperOS 3.0 Based on Android 16
This device is predicted to run on HyperOS 3.0, which is based on Android 16. Both the Xiaomi 16 and 16 Pro are expected to launch simultaneously in China, while the Ultra version is rumoured to debut in early 2026. As with earlier models, a global launch should follow in the months succeeding the Chinese release.
