Freo has made headlines with its acquisition of IndiaLends, marking a significant step in the fintech landscape. This acquisition grants Freo complete ownership of IndiaLends, effectively merging Freo’s extensive financial products and regulatory licenses with the robust lending marketplace and distribution network provided by IndiaLends. With this collaboration, Freo’s ecosystem is set to reach more than 50 million users.
About Freo
Founded by alumni from IIT and ISB, Freo presents a wide range of offerings including payments, credit, insurance, and investments. The company operates under various licenses, such as a TPAP license for UPI, an NBFC license, and a corporate agent license for insurance.
About IndiaLends
IndiaLends, established by Gaurav Chopra, functions as a digital marketplace focusing on loans and credit cards. It boasts integrations with over 80 banks, non-banking financial companies (NBFCs), and other financial institutions. Future Plans for the Combined Entity
The newly formed entity aims to concentrate on the implementation of AI-led workflows, enhanced customer analytics, effective underwriting processes, and integrated product offerings as it strives to scale its operations. This integration is anticipated to optimise operating metrics and bolster product execution in the near future.
