CLR Facility Services Secures Funding for Expansion
CLR Facility Services, an integrated facility management company, has successfully raised $15 million (approximately Rs 125 crore) from British International Investment (BII), the UK’s development finance institution and impact investor.
Utilisation of Funds
The funds acquired will aid CLR in expanding its footprint throughout India, enhance its integrated facility management operations, invest in vocational training, and strengthen its ESG practices.
About CLR Facility Services
Founded in Pune, CLR offers a variety of services such as cleaning, engineering, mechanical maintenance, and production support to various corporate clients. Currently, the company employs over 20,000 blue-collar workers, operating across nine states in India.
Leadership Vision
Gaurav Pathak and Gautam Pathak, the promoters and directors, stated that this investment will enable the company to create additional job opportunities for its workforce, spur innovation in facility management, and broaden its influence in emerging markets.
Future Workforce Plans
CLR plans to significantly increase its workforce to 50,000 over the next five to seven years. This expansion will particularly focus on hiring more women and individuals from underrepresented communities. Additionally, the company aims to establish training centres in tier-II cities to equip untrained and semi-skilled workers with essential skills.
CLR’s Employment Model
CLR is recognised for its structured skilling and employment framework, with women constituting 25% of its workforce. The company received its initial institutional investment from First Bridge Investment Managers in 2018.
Clientele and Competition
Currently, CLR serves over 160 clients and competes with prominent players like BVG India, UDS, and ISS Facility Services within the facility management sector.
