Emversity Secures $30 Million to Enhance Training and Employability Services
Emversity, a leading embedded training and employability platform for higher education, has successfully raised $30 million (Rs 271 crore) in a Series A funding round. This round was spearheaded by Premji Invest, with additional contributions from Lightspeed and Z47. With this latest infusion of capital, the total funding for Emversity now stands at $46 million.
Growth Journey of Emversity
Operated by Beyond Odds Technologies, Emversity was founded in April 2024 by Vivek Sinha, the former COO of Unacademy. The initial funding came from an $11 million seed round led by Matrix Partners India and Lightspeed. Following this, Emversity raised $5 million in a pre-Series A round, which was also led by Lightspeed and Z47, with support from Alteria Capital and InnoVen Capital.
Strategic Plans for Expansion
The new funding will be instrumental in expanding Emversity’s reach to over 200 campuses. The platform aims to strengthen its footprint in healthcare and hospitality skills and introduce new sectors in EPC and manufacturing. Additionally, Emversity plans to improve its technology platform, enhancing career discovery, training, and employability outcomes while also exploring global workforce demand for talent trained in India.
Industry-Aligned Training Initiatives
Emversity collaborates with universities to integrate industry-aligned, work-integrated training into degree programs. This initiative is primarily focused on boosting employability outcomes by ensuring academic courses meet real-world workforce demands. The platform also operates employer-linked skill centres, particularly in the healthcare and hospitality sectors, in partnership with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).
Impact on Learners
Within a short span of less than two years, Emversity claims to have successfully scaled its operations to serve 4,500 learners across 40 campuses. The programs offered are carefully designed alongside employers to establish reliable talent pipelines, especially for sectors experiencing workforce shortages. Currently, the platform supports roles in healthcare and hospitality, and many learners have found placement opportunities within large hospital chains and hotel groups.
