Playbook Partners, a growth capital firm, is set to allocate around $20 million (approximately Rs 175 crore) to each of about 12-15 emerging companies within the next two years. The focus is on firms that have achieved a turnover exceeding Rs 100 crore, where the firm’s investment and expertise can enhance their growth trajectory.

Strategic Focus on High-Potential Sectors

Vikas Choudhury, Founder and Managing Partner at Playbook Partners, shared insights with PTI about their investment strategy. The company is honing in on promising sectors such as SaaS, e-commerce, healthtech, climate-tech, B2B, and B2C. Each investment can reach up to $20 million, targeting 12-15 select companies.

Specialisation in Digital India and Technology-Driven Growth

Playbook Partners operates as an operator-driven growth capital (GC) firm, primarily concentrating on the Digital India initiative. The firm’s investments are directed towards growth-stage, technology-enabled businesses that show robust unit economics and demonstrate potential for market leadership.

Diverse Investment Portfolio

The investment portfolio of Playbook Partners features well-known companies like Myntra, PolicyBazaar, InMobi, Nazara Technologies, Rapido, and Renee, among others. Although the firm primarily invests in Indian companies, it has also supported international firms such as SpaceX and Stripe.
