Apple Fitness+ is making its debut in India on 15 December, marking one of the largest global expansions since its inception five years ago. This rollout will provide access to the service in 49 countries and regions worldwide.
According to Apple’s vice president of Fitness Technologies, Jay Blahnik, Apple Fitness+ has motivated users to embrace healthier lifestyles through its seamless integration with Apple devices. He mentioned that users can view real-time personal metrics on their screens using Apple Watch or AirPods Pro 3 and take their fitness journey anywhere on their iPhone or iPad. This upcoming launch is anticipated to reach a wider audience globally with this significant expansion.
The service encompasses 12 different workout types including Strength, Yoga, Pilates, HIIT, Dance, Kickboxing, Cycling, and Meditation. Users will have sessions ranging from five to 45 minutes, accessible via iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV. By connecting an Apple Watch, users can monitor live metrics such as heart rate, calories burned, and Activity ring progress directly on-screen. Additionally, AirPods Pro 3 users will have the capability to view tailored statistics while working out.
A central feature of the platform is Custom Plans, which generate weekly schedules tailored to individual preferences regarding activities, trainers, duration, and music. Apple is also widening its music library by introducing a new K-pop category across all workouts, alongside popular genres like Hip-Hop and Upbeat Anthems.
The Artist Spotlight series continues to be a hit, showcasing playlists from artists such as Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, BTS, Selena Gomez, Coldplay, and more. Moreover, the audio series Time to Walk aims to inspire users during their walks, now featuring a new episode with Formula 1 driver Yuki Tsunoda, adding to a lineup of previous guests like Cynthia Erivo, Camila Cabello, and Jane Fonda.
Collections will offer a meticulously curated selection of themed workouts and meditations. Categories include Run Your First 5K, No Shoes Workouts, Pilates for More Than Your Core, and So Fresh! 90s Dance. The meditation library features 12 themes such as Calm, Sleep, and Sound, providing guided exercises for users to rejuvenate during the day.
