Head Digital Works Expands Online Poker Portfolio with Acquisition of Deltatech Gaming
Online gaming powerhouse Head Digital Works has made a notable move by acquiring Deltatech Gaming Ltd, which operates one of India’s earliest online poker platforms, Adda52. This strategic acquisition aims to enhance Head Digital Works’ online poker offerings and will be executed in two stages, amounting to a total of Rs 491 crore. The initial phase will see Head Digital Works acquire a 51% stake in Deltatech Gaming. After the merger, DeltaCorp Limited will retain a 5.7% share in Head Digital Works, the parent company of the A23 brand. Notably, A23 launched its own poker platform back in October 2024.
With this deal, Head Digital Works intends to utilise Adda52’s expertise and advanced technological capabilities to accelerate its growth within the online gaming sector.
Strengthening the Online Poker Landscape in India
Deepak Gullapalli, Founder and CEO of Head Digital Works, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, stating that it will enhance the gaming experience, promote technological innovations, and better meet the changing needs of users. He noted, “Adda52 has been a pioneer in the online poker domain, boasting an exceptional platform along with a dedicated and loyal user community. Merging our capabilities will enable us to broaden our poker operations, explore new growth opportunities, and establish a comprehensive and diversified skill-gaming platform in India.”
Growth Through Partnership
A23 currently has over 75 million registered users across its A23 Rummy and A23 Poker sectors. Ashish Kapadia, Managing Director of Deltatech Gaming, shared his excitement regarding this collaborative venture, appreciating the pivotal role that Deepak and his team have played in the evolution of the online Rummy market in India. He asserted that this acquisition would solidify Adda52’s leading position in the online poker arena.
