Unlimited Access to Copilot Voice and Think Deeper
Microsoft has proclaimed that it is launching unrestricted access to Copilot Voice and Think Deeper for all users. This initiative introduces advanced AI-driven dialogue and reasoning features to the free version of the Copilot chatbot. The announcement comes after the corporation’s recent incorporation of OpenAI’s o1 reasoning model into Copilot, delivering a more enhanced experience that resembles OpenAI’s Deep Research and Advanced Voice Mode.
Expanded Access to Voice and Think Deeper
Previously, Copilot Voice and Think Deeper were available but with usage limitations. Now, these capabilities are accessible without restrictions for free users. These features empower users to interact with the AI chatbot in a more natural manner while addressing complex topics using deeper reasoning models. Microsoft’s choice to remove restrictions responds to a significant demand from users, many of whom faced constraints when attempting prolonged conversations.
With Copilot Voice, individuals can converse naturally with the chatbot, interrupt its responses, and pose follow-up queries, akin to the functionalities of Google’s Gemini Live. This feature proves particularly advantageous for those practising a new language, preparing for job interviews, or seeking hands-free guidance when executing a recipe.
Conversely, Think Deeper draws comparisons to ChatGPT’s Deep Research capability. It is crafted to manage more complicated inquiries, such as assessing the ramifications of significant purchases, making informed financial choices, or strategizing career transitions. Microsoft has advised that responses from Think Deeper may take additional time due to their intricate nature.
A Competitive Move Amid Growing AI Offerings
Microsoft’s decision to broaden access to these advanced capabilities for free users aligns with the wider trend toward enhancing the accessibility of AI tools. This strategy may be a reaction to the rise of rival AI models, such as China’s DeepSeek, which provide comparable functionalities. By granting free limitless access to previously restricted features, Microsoft appears poised to reinforce Copilot’s standing in the dynamic AI marketplace.
Even as free-tier users gain these enhancements, Copilot Pro subscribers will maintain priority access to the latest AI models, early exposure to experimental features, and an array of additional AI functionalities embedded within Microsoft 365 applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Microsoft acknowledges that, even with the removal of limitations, users might occasionally face delays or interruptions due to heightened demand, security issues, or breaches of policy. Nevertheless, the company remains dedicated to enhancing its AI offerings and broadening access to a larger audience in the foreseeable future.
