Semiconductor Self-Sufficiency: MeitY’s Upcoming Nano Electronics Roadshow and Conference

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) will conduct the Nano Electronics Roadshow and Conference on the Semiconductor Ecosystem in India on 27 March 2025 at the National Science Seminar Complex, IISc Bengaluru. This event is being organised by MeitY’s Nanotechnology Initiatives Division in partnership with prominent academic institutions, with the aim of uniting crucial stakeholders from government, industry, academia, and the startup ecosystem to drive innovation in the semiconductor field.

Focus on Semiconductor Self-Sufficiency

The conference will act as a platform to explore developments in quantum technology, neuromorphic computing, artificial intelligence, information technology, and homegrown nanoelectronics. It aims to encourage discussions among researchers, policymakers, and business leaders, fostering collaboration and promoting investments in India’s semiconductor sector.

He further stated that MeitY has established Nano Science Centres in six IITs and the Indian Institute of Science across the nation to develop a dedicated team of scientists, technologists, and professionals in the semiconductor domain over time. The event will showcase nearly 50 technology demonstrations along with 25 deep-tech startups engaged specifically in the Nano Electronics sector, and will be attended by 25 venture capital firms alongside 25 additional industries.

This gathering presents a prime opportunity for electronics startups to showcase their innovations and attract funding from an extensive network of venture capital firms, fostering the advancement of India’s technology landscape.
