YouTube Premium Subscription: New Two-Person Plan Launched
YouTube is testing a two-person Premium subscription model on its platform. This innovative subscription is available for ₹219 per month, enabling two users aged 13 and above to belong to the same family group while enjoying the advantages of YouTube Premium.
Details of the YouTube Premium Two-Person Subscription
The two-person subscription is currently in a pilot phase. A YouTube representative stated that the company is exploring new strategies to offer more flexibility and value to YouTube Premium subscribers. The new plan aims to allow two individuals to share a subscription at a more affordable rate.
Comparison with Other Streaming Services
YouTube is not alone in offering a two-person plan; Spotify, the music streaming service, has a similar subscription tier called Duo. This allows two users to share premium features under a single plan.
Current YouTube Premium Pricing Structure
In the previous year, YouTube increased its Premium subscription fees, which now include a monthly cost of ₹89 for students, ₹149 for individuals, and ₹299 for family plans. The prices for Music Premium plans are set at ₹59 for students, ₹119 for individuals, and ₹179 for families.
Introduction of Premium Lite Subscription
This year, YouTube also revealed a new Premium Lite subscription option. This plan provides users with the opportunity to watch selected videos without ads, while ads will still be present for other categories such as music and shorts. Currently, this offering is available in select countries including the US, Australia, Germany, and Thailand.
