Ather Energy Reports Strong Financial Performance in Q4 FY25

Electric two-wheeler manufacturer Ather Energy has revealed its financial results for the fourth quarter of FY25. The report shows a significant 29% increase in operating revenue compared to Q4 FY24, with the Bengaluru-based company also managing to reduce its losses by 17%.

Ather’s operational revenue surged by 29%, reaching Rs 676 crore in Q4 FY25, up from Rs 523 crore in the same quarter last year. This data was sourced from the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and is detailed in their consolidated quarterly report.

Full Fiscal Year Overview

For the complete fiscal year (FY25), Ather Energy’s revenue also rose by 29%, totalling Rs 2,255 crore, up from Rs 1,754 crore in FY24. This upward trend highlights ongoing growth within the electric mobility sector.

Expenditure Breakdown

The company’s material costs, heavily influenced by battery and component procurement, constituted the majority of its expenditures. In Q4 FY25, these costs climbed nearly 16% to Rs 564 crore from Rs 488 crore in the previous year, making up over 61% of total expenses for the quarter.

Employee Costs and Other Expenses

Employee benefit expenses saw a substantial fall of 29% year-on-year, decreasing to Rs 109 crore in Q4 FY25 from Rs 154 crore in Q4 FY24. Conversely, depreciation and amortisation expenses grew by 18% to Rs 45 crore, while other operational costs swelled by nearly 47%, reaching Rs 204 crore.

Overall, Ather’s total expenditure for Q4 FY25 rose by 13% to Rs 922 crore, compared to Rs 819 crore in Q4 FY24. For the full financial year concluding in March 2025, total expenses increased to Rs 3,117 crore, compared to Rs 2,674 crore in FY24.

Net Losses and Market Performance

Consequently, the company’s net losses for Q4 FY25 reduced by 17%, totalling Rs 234 crore compared to Rs 283 crore in Q4 FY24. Annually, these net losses decreased by 23%, coming down to Rs 812 crore in FY25 from Rs 1,060 crore in FY24.

Ather Energy made its initial public offering on May 6, 2025, listing at Rs 328 per share on the NSE, which is 2.18% higher than its issue price of Rs 321. Nonetheless, the stock closed the day at Rs 300. On the following Monday, it saw an increase of 2.8%, trading at Rs 308.7 before market close, elevating its total market capitalization to Rs 11,497 crore ($1.34 billion).

In contrast, Ather’s competitor, Ola Electric, experienced nearly a 20% drop in operating revenue during Q3 FY25 and has not yet submitted its Q4 results.
