BenQ ScreenBar Halo 2: The Next Generation of Monitor Lighting Solutions
BenQ has launched the ScreenBar Halo 2 in India, promoting it as a cutting-edge lighting solution for professionals, creators, and gamers who frequently operate in dim or variable lighting settings. This latest model follows four years of research and user feedback, offering 423 per cent broader coverage compared to its predecessor due to a newly designed triple-curvature backlight and an enhanced dual-light system.
Advanced Features of the ScreenBar Halo 2
The ScreenBar Halo 2 seeks to resolve typical issues associated with conventional desk lamps, such as glare and inconsistent illumination. Leveraging BenQ’s ASYM Light optical technology and an 18-degree asymmetrical cut-off angle, the lamp focuses light on the desk instead of the screen. This design prevents glare and minimizes direct light exposure to the eyes while ensuring adequate ambient brightness, which BenQ identifies as essential for alleviating visual fatigue.
User-Centric Design Enhancements
JC Pan, Chief Product Designer at BenQ Smart Lighting, noted that professionals require precision in illumination. As a result, the controller has been re-engineered for intuitive operation. The anti-fingerprint coated wireless control dial allows users to effortlessly adjust brightness (0–100 percent) and colour temperature (2700K–6500K), making it ideal for colour grading, content creation, or working late into the night.
Improved Mounting System
BenQ has also revamped the mounting system, replacing standard clips with a gravity-inspired mechanism crafted from zinc alloy. This mechanism rests gently on monitors of various thicknesses, including curved displays, without causing any damage. Judy Yang, Lead Mechanical Engineer at BenQ Smart Lighting, remarked that it rests easily on the screen rather than clipping it, thus being much more user-friendly for screens.
Smart Features for Enhanced Usability
The Halo 2 includes several intelligent functions, such as auto-dimming, motion detection that activates the lamp when the user returns to the desk, and memory settings to save preferred lighting setups. These features are aimed at creating a seamless and energy-efficient experience throughout the day.
Aesthetic and Functional Collaboration
This design has been collaboratively developed with MINIMAL Design, led by the former Nike Global Creative Director Scott Wilson. The resulting metallic finish and minimalist aesthetic are designed to integrate seamlessly into upscale home offices and studio environments, complementing BenQ’s PD, RD, MOBIUZ, and MA monitor series.
Enhancing Workspace Experience
Mr Rajeev Singh, Managing Director of BenQ India and South Asia, expressed that exceptional technology should elevate human experience. The ScreenBar Halo 2 merges advanced engineering, elegant design, and smart features to create modern workspaces that are healthier, more productive, and visually appealing.
Availability and Pricing
