LG Gaming Portal: Console-Free Cloud Gaming in India
LG has unveiled its innovative Gaming Portal in India, bringing console-free cloud gaming to millions of Smart TV users. The company claims this portal serves as a unified destination for webOS gaming, featuring over 4,000 cloud-streamed titles and more than 600 free-to-play games. This initiative is prominently marked by the launch of the Xbox app on LG Smart TVs, empowering players to stream their favourite games directly from the cloud.
Explore a Variety of Games Instantly
The portal consolidates offerings from various global gaming partners, enabling users to explore and start games instantly, covering a wide array from AAA blockbusters to indie gems, all without the need to buy a console. With Xbox Game Pass, a reliable internet connection, and a compatible controller, gamers can dive into exciting titles like Forza Horizon 5, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, and Raji: An Ancient Epic.
Making Gaming Accessible for Everyone
Brian Jung, Director at LG Media Entertainment Solution Company, expressed excitement about introducing the LG Gaming Portal with Xbox to LG Smart TVs in India. The Gaming Portal aims to enhance accessibility, convenience, and enjoyment of gaming for all, catering to both dedicated gamers and casual enthusiasts.
Gaming Features Enhanced by LG TVs
LG’s television models incorporate a variety of gaming-centric features, including G-Sync compatibility, support for up to 165Hz VRR, an Intertek-certified response time of 0.1ms, and AMD FreeSync Premium alongside Clear MR 10000 on selected models, boosting performance for fast-paced games.
Availability of the Gaming Portal and Xbox App
The Gaming Portal and Xbox app are currently being rolled out to compatible LG webOS TVs from 2021 to 2025. The availability will expand via software updates across key Indian cities. Users can access the portal directly from the LG home screen and begin their gaming experience by subscribing to Xbox Game Pass.
