Sports for Life Raises Rs 21.57 Crore in Series A Round
Sports for Life has successfully raised Rs 21.57 crore ($2.58 million) during a Series A funding round, led by Fireside Ventures and Genesia Ventures, with additional participation from Roots Ventures, TDV Partners, and other existing investors. This funding is aimed at expanding operations to new cities, developing multi-sport academies, increasing the range of sports offered, enhancing coaching expertise, and adding new features to the performance and communication platform.
Sports for Life plans to invest in livestreaming capabilities, monitoring tools, and more comprehensive analytics as they work to widen access to structured youth sports throughout India. This development was exclusively reported by Startup Superb in October of the previous year.
Founded by DealShare co-founder Sourjyendu Medda and Armaan Tandon, Sports for Life functions as a youth sports platform that merges academies, leagues, and a technology layer. The organisation employs an AI-driven performance system that gathers training and match data to create customised learning plans, progress reports, and decision-support tools for coaches.
Currently, Sports for Life operates in Mumbai and Pune, having coached over 1,500 children and organised tournaments with participation from more than 2,000 players. Their football league attracted over 100 teams during its second season.
In the coming year, Sports for Life aims to expand into Bengaluru and NCR, recruit 10,000 new children into their academies, engage 20,000 in tournaments, and widen their sports offerings from seven to twelve, with cricket included.
