T-Rex Smart introduces the first electric cycle in India equipped with Bluetooth and GPS capabilities. The Pune-based company, EMotorad, renowned in India’s e-cycle market, asserts that this latest flagship model aims to enhance urban commuting by making it more intelligent, secure, and intuitive.

Versions and Pricing of the T-Rex Smart

The T-Rex Smart is available in two variants: a Bluetooth model priced at ₹37,999 and a Bluetooth plus GPS model at ₹45,999. Both versions are integrated with the AMIIGO NXT app, developed by EMotorad to establish what the brand describes as a connected cycling ecosystem. Riders can use the app to review route history, track their trips in real-time, and assess their overall riding performance.

Safety Features of the T-Rex Smart

Safety is a key feature in this launch. With geofencing capabilities, users can establish virtual riding boundaries, while the Child Lock feature restricts throttle speed for younger riders. Additionally, the system provides theft alerts, remote immobilisation options, emergency SOS functionalities, and rider history, making the T-Rex Smart function more like a smart companion rather than just a regular e-cycle.

Design and Build Quality

The design remains consistent with EMotorad’s enduring robust ethos. It features a high-tensile steel hardtail MTB frame, 29-inch puncture-resistant tyres, and a 100 mm front fork for a more comfortable riding experience, complemented by mechanical disc brakes with an auto cut-off mechanism. The power system consists of a 36V 250W rear-hub motor paired with a 36V 10.2Ah removable battery, which can provide up to 50 km on pedal assist or approximately 40 km when using the throttle.

Ride Experience and Utility

A Cluster C5 display, a Shimano TY300 7-speed drivetrain, and five levels of pedal assistance enhance the ride experience. To cater to everyday utility, EMotorad has incorporated full-metal mudguards, mirrors, a mobile holder, a carrier, an integrated front light with a horn, a pannier bag, and its Xcape Locksafe security system.
