iPhone 17e: Upcoming Affordable Model Details
The iPhone 17e is generating excitement as we approach the end of the year, with discussions about Apple’s next generation of iPhones already in progress. Several leaks regarding the iPhone 18 models have surfaced, but anticipation is growing for the launch of the affordable iPhone 17e, especially with news about its display features. It is reported that the iPhone 17e may showcase a display similar to its predecessor, although it will boast a narrower bezel.
Display Features of iPhone 17e
As per a report from The Elec, the iPhone 17e is set to incorporate an LTPS OLED display, similar to what is found in the iPhone 16e, while maintaining a design close to the iPhone 14. However, the thinner bezel is expected to offer a refreshed appearance to the device.
Manufacturing and Supply Details
The report indicates that BOE, one of Apple’s key display suppliers, will play a significant role in producing the display panels for the iPhone 17e, along with Samsung Display and LG Display. The company aims to ship over 8 million OLED display units for the iPhone 17e, targeting a launch timeframe of 2026.
Design Inspirations
There had previously been speculation that the iPhone 17e would include a Dynamic Island feature; however, it appears that it will closely mirror the design of earlier iPhone models. Despite the iPhone 17 receiving enhancements like a ProMotion display and an improved ultrawide camera, the iPhone 17e is likely to stick with a conventional set-up featuring a 6.1-inch 60Hz display and a boxy design, maintaining affordability.
Performance Aspects of iPhone 17e
In terms of performance, the iPhone 17e is expected to be powered by the A19 chip, delivering notable performance improvements. It may also come equipped with a single rear 48MP camera, mirroring the configurations of the iPhone 16e and iPhone Air, along with a 12MP front-facing camera.
