Culture, a social networking platform, has successfully secured Rs 2 crore in a seed funding round led by Acuvest Infra. The funds will be allocated for product development enhancement, expansion of community initiatives, and fortifying the platform’s safety infrastructure, as stated by Culture in a recent press release.

Founded by Anurag Rangineni, Culture allows users to explore and connect via Artificial Intelligence-driven video matching based on shared interests. This innovative approach helps foster natural discussions surrounding common passions such as music, startups, travel, wellness, and various creative endeavours.

User Accountability and Safety Focus

Culture prioritises accountability and user safety, employing methods like genuine profiles, phone verification, and AI-powered moderation. This technology automatically terminates interactions that involve nudity, harassment, or undesirable behaviour.

New Features and Expansion Plans

The Hyderabad-based startup is set to introduce creator-led Spaces, a feature enabling creators and community influencers to host live discussions, events, and hybrid online-offline experiences. The platform will support ticketed events, targeted promotional activities, and long-term collaborations with offline venues, including cafes, clubs, and cultural spaces.

According to the company, it is advancing through college activations, partnerships with cafes and breweries, collaborations with creators, and initiatives for organic community building. The plan involves scaling operations across key cities in India before venturing into international markets. A long-term vision includes the introduction of premium subscriptions, monetisation tools for creators, and native advertising aligned with user interests.
