B2B engineering equipment marketplace Wootz.work has successfully secured $6.6 million in a Series A funding round, primarily led by Z47, with ongoing support from Nexus Venture Partners and AdvantEdge Founders, alongside the new involvement of Stride Ventures. The startup, based in Delhi, had previously completed a seed funding round in August 2023, where it raised $3.5 million under the guidance of Matrix Partners India and Nexus Venture Partners.

The new funding will be allocated towards expanding Wootz.work’s engineering capabilities, enhancing manufacturing control systems, and facilitating larger, mission-critical OEM programmes, as stated in their press release.

Founded in 2023 by Karan Anand and Himanshu Uniyal, Wootz.work operates as a global advanced engineering and manufacturing solutions provider catering to OEMs. With teams stationed in India, the US, the UK, and Italy, it integrates engineering with precision manufacturing and quality assurance governed by digital systems. This approach offers globally competitive manufacturing results at scale.

Challenges of Offshoring in Manufacturing

While offshoring is often associated with cost savings, it is common for 15–30% of expected savings to be lost due to coordination issues. These issues include delays, rework, quality failures, and the drain on management resources.
