IndiaAI Mission’s CEO Transition to NTA Director General

IndiaAI Mission’s CEO Abhishek Singh has been reassigned from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) to become the Director General of the National Testing Agency (NTA). According to a report by Moneycontrol, this relocation is part of a bureaucratic reshuffle endorsed by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.

Profile of Abhishek Singh

A 1995-batch IAS officer, Singh has been at the helm of the IndiaAI Mission and also served as the Director General of the National Informatics Centre (NIC). His leadership has been pivotal in driving the government’s Rs 10,000 crore IndiaAI initiative, where he has been responsible for overseeing essential digital infrastructure and e-governance platforms.

The Role at NTA

Singh will now lead the NTA, which operates under the Ministry of Education, at a time when the agency is facing scrutiny over the management of national-level examinations. This shift is crucial as it aligns with India’s broader goal of enhancing artificial intelligence engagement across various sectors.
