Google AI Pro Plan Enhancements

On April 2, the enhancements to the Google AI Pro plan were revealed, introducing additional storage capacity, new features, and benefits at no extra charge. Shimrit Ben Yair, Vice President and General Manager of Google Photos and Google One, shared this update through a post on X (formerly Twitter).

Expanded Storage for Google AI Pro Users

The Google AI Pro plan now offers increased storage, expanding from 2TB to 5TB, providing a significant 3TB upgrade without any rise in price. This additional storage is accessible across various Google services, including Google Drive, Google Photos, and Gmail.

Space for Memories and Projects

Yair highlighted the importance of space for users’ memories and projects. She indicated that this enhancement allows users more room to create and securely store significant memories.

New AI Features in Google Workspace

Alongside the expanded storage, new AI features have been implemented within the subscription. In Google Workspace, enhanced collaborative experiences using Gemini are now available across Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Drive. This integration allows context extraction from files, emails, and the web to facilitate insights.

Innovative Tools for Users

In the United States, users have the option to request AI Overviews which can extract information from their inbox, delivering summarised answers to queries.

Chrome Auto Browse Feature

Additionally, Google is introducing a Chrome auto browse feature designed to autonomously handle complex or multi-step tasks. This feature will be accessible to AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers in the US.

Integration of Google Home Premium

Finally, both the AI Pro and Ultra plans will also grant access to Google Home premium, empowering users to utilize “the power of Gemini” within their home environment. Notably, all of these upgrades will be available to users without any additional costs.

Availability of Features

It is important to note that the Chrome auto browse feature and Google Home premium are not yet available globally, and the company’s plans for a phased rollout outside of the US remain unclear.

Pricing of Google AI Plans

The Google AI Pro plan is offered at Rs 1,950 per month in India, whereas the AI Ultra plan is priced at Rs 24,500 per month.
