Netflix Clips: The New Way to Discover Content

Netflix Clips, an innovative feature from the popular Over-the-Top (OTT) platform, is set to transform the way users engage with content on the mobile app. This new vertical video feed, akin to Instagram, will present brief highlights from original Netflix shows and films, making it easier for viewers to explore content.

Netflix describes Clips as a tailored highlight reel designed to assist users in selecting what to watch next, eliminating the hassle of excessive scrolling. The service aims to deliver short video snippets from a variety of TV series, movies, and exclusive content that aligns with individual viewing habits.

What is Netflix Clips and how it works

Netflix Clips introduces a short vertical video feed within its mobile app, mirroring the functionality of Instagram Reels. This feature aims to enhance content discovery in a user-friendly manner. Furthermore, Netflix is adding numerous features to enrich this video feed.

With enhanced navigation and Netflix Clips, Elizabeth Stone, Chief Product and Technology Officer, emphasized that the platform is focusing on delivering an enjoyable experience tailored for mobile users. The feature is designed for moments of downtime, casual title discovery, or a quick chuckle.

Within the Clips feature, viewers can promptly add a movie or show to their “My List” if they find something captivating. Users can also share appealing scenes or recommendations via text or social media. In addition, Clips will provide bespoke suggestions to help viewers choose what to watch next, covering genres such as comedy, family films, drama, and more.

Currently, Clips exclusively showcases content from TV series and movies. However, Netflix has plans to incorporate podcasts, live programming, and curated collections based on various genres in the future.

Netflix Clips availability

Netflix Clips is being introduced across mobile apps in several regions, including the US, the UK, Australia, Canada, India, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Philippines, and South Africa. More locations are anticipated to follow in the upcoming months.
