Pine Labs Expands into the Philippines Market

Pine Labs, a global fintech platform, has successfully entered the Philippines market by collaborating with GCash for Business, the arm dedicated to merchant solutions for GCash. This partnership allows Pine Labs to enhance the merchant payment infrastructure for GCash, introducing features like installment payment plans, loyalty rewards, cashback offers, and acceptance of various payment types, including card and QR payments.

Support for MSMEs in the Philippines

The collaboration aims to assist micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the Philippines by providing access to point-of-sale solutions and digital payment tools through Pine Labs’ innovative software stack. GCash for Business offers tools such as PocketPay, which transforms smartphones into POS devices, and SoundPay, which facilitates real-time payment confirmations. Additionally, the platform has introduced devices including SoundPay Plus and EasyPOS tailored for merchants.

Enhanced Payment Acceptance

With the integration of Pine Labs’ technology, merchants within the GCash network will gain the capability to accept payments both through QR codes and cards. Pine Labs already maintains a foothold in the Philippines with its local entity and has established connections with banks, merchants, and financial institutions throughout the region. Furthermore, the company supports gift card programmes for SM Retail in the Philippines.
