Spotify Prices Reduced for Premium Plans in India
Spotify, the widely known music streaming service, has decreased its rates for the Premium Standard and Student packages in India. In addition to adjusting the prices, the platform has also slashed the cost of its entry-level Premium Lite category, representing a significant change to its subscription offerings. The revised pricing is now visible on the Spotify website, aimed at making subscription choices easier for users.
Updated Spotify Subscription Prices in India
As per the information on the Spotify website, the Premium Standard plan is now available for Rs 139 each month, reduced from Rs 199. This new price aligns with the former Premium Lite plan, which has now been phased out. Furthermore, the Student plan has been adjusted, dropping from Rs 99 to just Rs 69 each month.

Spotify issued a statement to Startup Superb, detailing that the company sometimes modifies the plans they offer, taking into account market opportunities to deliver more choices and greater value to users.
Discontinuation of the Lite Plan
In reference to the discontinuation of the Lite option, Spotify announced that the Lite plan is no longer accessible in India. Users of Spotify Lite are being invited to transition to the Spotify Standard plan at the same price. The transition has already been communicated to the users.
Current Pricing for Premium Platinum Plan
The Spotify Premium Platinum plan remains priced at Rs 299, featuring advanced functionalities. Therefore, for users looking to enhance their listening experience, options include the Premium Standard, Lite, and Platinum plans.
Applicability of Updated Subscription Prices
The newly adjusted subscription rates will apply to new subscribers, while existing users can continue to enjoy Spotify’s previous tiers unless they decide to change their plans. The previous subscription choices consist of Individual, Duo, and Family plans, priced between Rs 139 and Rs 229.
