Ixigo Financial Results for Q1 FY27
Ixigo, an online travel aggregator, recently shared its financial results for the first quarter of the fiscal year concluding in March 2027. The organisation saw a 13% year-on-year increase in revenue, alongside a remarkable profit surge of 81%, amounting to Rs 34 crore for the same period.
Revenue Growth in Train Ticketing
The total revenue from operations for Ixigo reached Rs 356.75 crore in Q1 FY27, up from Rs 316.05 crore in Q1 FY26. The largest portion of revenue was derived from train ticketing, contributing over 39% of the overall total for the quarter. This segment saw revenue rise to Rs 141.05 crore in Q1 FY27 from Rs 129.92 crore a year earlier. Additionally, revenue from flight and bus ticketing amounted to Rs 104.56 crore and Rs 102.55 crore, respectively.
Overall Income and Interest Gains
Apart from operational revenue, Ixigo reported an income of Rs 29.15 crore from interest and financial asset gains, leading to a total income of Rs 385.9 crore in Q1 FY27. Ixigo’s gross transaction value (GTV) also showed a positive trend, rising 19% year on year to Rs 5,524.33 crore during the quarter.
Expenses and Employee Benefits
While the firm did not provide a detailed breakdown of expenses in its quarterly financial statements, employee benefit expenses were noted at Rs 58.59 crore. Total expenses increased by 14.7% to Rs 337.76 crore in Q1 FY27, compared to Rs 294.35 crore during the same quarter the previous year.
Profit Surges Significantly
Ixigo’s profit surged by 81% to Rs 34.34 crore in Q1 FY27, in comparison to Rs 18.94 crore from the same quarter last year. On a sequential basis, this indicates a profit increase of 6.8% from Rs 32 crore in Q4 FY26.
Comparative Analysis with MakeMyTrip
In comparison, Ixigo’s listed peer MakeMyTrip reported a total revenue of $286 million in Q1 FY27, although its profit saw a substantial decline of 65%, amounting to $9.2 million during the same period.
Market Capitalization of Ixigo
On Thursday, Ixigo’s shares closed at Rs 202.67, bringing the total market capitalization of the online travel aggregator to Rs 8,775 crore.
