Financial Results of EaseMyTrip for Q1 FY27
EaseMyTrip, an online travel aggregator platform, has unveiled its financial performance for the first quarter of FY27. The focus keyword for this article is EaseMyTrip. The company recorded an 18.5% increase in operating revenue on a yearly basis. However, it faced challenges, slipping into a net loss of Rs 11.7 crore.
Operating Revenue Growth
EaseMyTrip’s operating revenue escalated by 18.5% year-on-year, reaching Rs 134.7 crore in Q1 FY27, up from Rs 113.7 crore in Q1 FY26, as per its consolidated financial statements submitted to the National Stock Exchange (NSE). Sequentially, there was a decline of over 11% in revenue.
Hotel Packages Boost Revenue
Hotel packages played a crucial role in contributing to the company’s revenue, representing over 50% of operating income. Revenue from this segment more than doubled, amounting to Rs 67.6 crore in Q1 FY27, compared to Rs 32.5 crore in Q1 FY26. Moreover, hotel room night bookings surged by 95.4% year-on-year to 6.47 lakh, averaging around 7,000 bookings daily.
Air Ticketing Revenue Decline
In contrast, revenue from air ticketing saw a dip of 4% year-on-year, totaling Rs 54.7 crore in Q1 FY27, following a more significant 14% decrease in the preceding quarter. When factoring in additional services and non-operating income, EaseMyTrip’s total income rose to Rs 141.2 crore from Rs 119.6 crore in Q1 FY26.
Increase in Total Expenses
EaseMyTrip’s total expenses rose by 30% year-on-year, reaching Rs 152.6 crore in Q1 FY27. Service costs emerged as the largest expense, amounting to Rs 39.2 crore, more than doubling compared to the previous year. Employee benefit costs were reported at Rs 32.75 crore. Additionally, expenses for advertisement and sales promotion climbed to Rs 18.5 crore, while payment gateway charges totalled Rs 16.4 crore during the quarter.
Net Loss Reported
The increase in service costs and other operational expenses, along with a slower revenue growth rate compared to the sharp rise in expenses, led to a net loss for EaseMyTrip. The company reported a net loss of Rs 11.7 crore in Q1 FY27, in contrast to a profit of Rs 44 lakh in the same quarter of the previous year.
Market Capitalization
The share price of EaseMyTrip closed at Rs 6.43 on Friday, resulting in a total market capitalisation of Rs 2,562 crore, approximately $270 million.
