Utsav Raises Funds for Expansion in Devotional Services

Kolkata-based spiritual platform Utsav has successfully secured Rs 36 crore (approximately $3.8 million) in a Series A funding round, primarily led by Atomic Capital. Existing investors, India Quotient and Equanimity Investments, also contributed to this latest investment. This new funding brings Utsav’s total capital to Rs 42 crore, which includes Rs 6.35 crore raised in January 2025.

Plans for Growth and Development

The fresh capital is intended to enhance Utsav’s temple network, bolster its technological infrastructure and fulfilment capabilities, and expand its team. Founded by Sourajit Basu, Ankita De, and Prajata Samanta, the platform collaborates with temple priests, scholars, and acharyas to deliver various devotional services. Utsav’s offerings encompass puja bookings, consultations with pujari, e-prasad, consecrated prasad, and customised rituals.

Reaching Out to the Indian Diaspora

Utsav is also looking to broaden its services to cater to the Indian diaspora, allowing devotees abroad to engage in temple rituals across India. According to the company’s co-founder and CEO, Sourajit Basu, the intention is to enhance accessibility to devotional experiences while maintaining their authenticity and sanctity.

Future Ambitions

The startup plans to further enlarge its temple network and services in the coming 12 to 24 months, with significant investments in personalisation, discovery, logistics, and fulfilment processes. Utsav has reported an eightfold increase in revenue since its previous funding round of Rs 6.35 crore in February 2025, handling approximately 2.5 lakh orders every month.

Competitors in the Market

As Utsav continues its growth trajectory, it faces competition from platforms such as Vama.app, AppsForBharat, Astrotalk, Astroyogi, and DevDham, among others.
