YOGa Clean Air: Advancing Indoor Air Quality with New Funding
Indoor air-quality company YOGa Clean Air has successfully raised Rs 20 crore in a Series A funding round, spearheaded by Info Edge Ventures. The round also saw participation from Deepinder Goyal, founder of Zomato/Eternal, and Three Words Capital. The company announced that the new funds will be directed towards strengthening its footprint in existing markets, venturing into new Tier-1 and Tier-2 cities, and extending its air quality systems into public transport and various outdoor environments.
About YOGa Clean Air and Its Innovations
Established in 2019 by Sachin Panwar, Deepak Raina, and Gaurav Nagar, YOGa Clean Air offers a unique Clean Air Bubble technology. This patented system filters incoming air, maintaining slightly elevated air pressure within spaces to deter polluted air from entering. Furthermore, the system controls carbon dioxide levels to uphold optimal indoor air quality.
Current Reach and Impact
The Gurugram-based company proudly claims to serve over 5,000 families and numerous institutions, including hospitals, schools, offices, and gyms, across 11 cities in India such as Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad. YOGa Clean Air holds two patents for its innovative technology.
According to YOGa, its systems have been able to reduce indoor air pollution to single-digit levels even in situations where outdoor pollution exceeded 900 µg/m³, while also keeping CO₂ levels under control. The company boasts a 100% renewal rate for its annual maintenance agreements.
Trends in the Indoor Air-Quality Sector
The indoor air-quality industry has seen various startups advancing beyond traditional air purifiers. They are exploring diverse domains such as air-quality monitoring, HVAC-integrated filtration, pathogen control, plant-based purification, and industrial emission management.
Pune-based NovorbisItus recently attracted Rs 13.35 crore ($1.6 million) in seed funding led by Rainmatter, focusing on emission-control and air-purification solutions. Similarly, Airth is developing filters that transform standard air conditioning units into air purifying systems and has also gained funding to expand its offerings in indoor air quality.
Other notable players in this sector include uBreathe Life, operated by Urban Air Labs, which has received support from the Technology Development Board for its plant-based indoor air-purification innovativeness, and Biomoneta, which is in the process of creating medical-grade air-cleaning solutions.
