DocPharma Secures $2 Million in Pre Series A Funding for Quick Commerce in Healthcare
DocPharma, a quick commerce platform focused on healthcare supply chains, has successfully raised $2 million in a pre Series A funding round led by Equentis. This round also included participation from existing investor 100Unicorns, Vinners, and a group of strategic angel investors.
The company intends to utilise the funds to establish 100 new compliant and licensed dark stores, expanding its reach from over 12 to more than 50 cities. This growth will enhance the existing infrastructure that serves over 30 health and wellness platforms nationwide, according to a press release from DocPharma.
About DocPharma
Founded in 2023 by Saquib Ali, Shashank Rai, and Sagar Chauhan, DocPharma functions as a backend supply chain solution for healthcare enterprises. The firm’s network comprises licensed dark stores, the DocPharma One SaaS platform, an AI-driven inventory management system, and a prescription-compliant fulfilment infrastructure that collectively support over 30 healthcare and wellness firms.
The company collaborates with platforms spanning various categories, such as e-pharmacies, health insurers, corporate wellness initiatives, hospitals, D2C wellness and nutraceutical brands, and pet care enterprises. This setup enables these platforms to deliver medicines and healthcare products to consumers without the need to construct their own supply chains.
Operational Achievements
The startup, based in Bengaluru, claims to operate in more than 12 cities and has completed over 800,000 orders, boasting a fulfilment rate exceeding 95%. This outreach has positively impacted more than 500,000 lives across India.
Technology Integration
DocPharma states that its unique SaaS platform integrates warehouse management, inventory intelligence, order management, and fulfilment into a unified operating system. This platform offers real-time inventory visibility, directs orders to the nearest compliant fulfilment centre, and facilitates prescription-compliant processing.
Market Context
The funding arrives amid the expansion of healthcare supply chain and quick commerce platforms in India, where businesses aim to merge faster delivery with the regulatory prerequisites associated with medicine fulfilment.
In a related development, Bengaluru-based pharmacy-first quick commerce startup Plazza secured $15 million in Series A funding in July, with contributions from Accel, Elevation Capital, and Nexus Venture Partners. This company plans to utilise the investment to bolster its AI-driven inventory intelligence, supply chain capabilities, and pharmacy network, targeting 15 to 30-minute medicine deliveries.
