Lenskart has increased its ownership in Dimension NXG, the parent company of AjnaLens, to 9.01% by investing an additional Rs 8 crore in the extended reality (XR) startup. The eyewear company secured a 1.8% share in Dimension NXG for Rs 7.99 crore, as revealed in its regulatory filing. The deal was finalised on September 13, 2026. This marks the third time Lenskart has purchased a stake in Dimension NXG in 2026. The company obtained an extra 0.68% stake in February and another 1.69% share in July. Consequently, Lenskart’s ownership in the company has risen from 4.84% to 9.01%. Overall, Lenskart has invested a total of Rs 18.5 crore to secure the additional 4.17% stake within these transactions.

Strategic Investment in XR Technology

Lenskart highlighted that this investment will fortify its strategic partnership with the XR, artificial intelligence (AI), and smart wearable technology sectors, while also bolstering technology-driven prospects in smart eyewear.

Lenskart’s Past Investments

Lenskart’s initial investment in AjnaLens occurred in July 2025 aimed at developing AI-driven smart glasses. This collaboration merges Lenskart’s strength in frame design and engineering with AjnaLens’ capabilities in XR technology.

About AjnaLens

Founded in 2014 by Pankaj Raut, Abhijit Patil, and Abhishek Tomar, AjnaLens focuses on producing hardware and software solutions using XR technology. This startup serves various sectors, including defence and enterprise markets.

Financial Performance

AjnaLens’ parent company recorded a 35% drop in turnover, falling to Rs 10.36 crore in FY26 from Rs 15.97 crore in FY24. Lenskart’s recent investment reflects its commitment to enhancing its offerings in smart eyewear. The company has already unveiled products such as Phonic audio glasses and is developing AI-driven smart glasses in collaboration with Qualcomm for the technology infrastructure of these innovations.
