Kiddo Secures Funding for Baby Care Quick Commerce Expansion
Kiddo, a startup concentrating on baby-focused quick commerce, has successfully secured Rs 12.5 crore in a pre-seed funding round. This round was led by Campus Fund and saw participation from a group of strategic angel investors. The new funding will facilitate initiatives for acquiring customers, expanding dark store locations within Delhi NCR, and enhancing technology and product offerings, as stated in a press release from Kiddo.
About Kiddo and its Market Position
Established last year by Ankit Kawatra, Kiddo delivers essential baby care and parenting products in a matter of minutes. The startup merges rapid delivery with tailored product suggestions that cater to different life stages of parenting.
Market Insights
A recent market analysis reports that India’s baby care sector reached a value of $31 billion in 2022 and is on track to hit $56 billion by 2029, experiencing a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) between 13% to 14%. Kiddo has curated an impressive catalog of over 30,000 SKUs, encompassing essentials, fashion, and various other categories since its inception. The company primarily targets affluent households and operates within Delhi NCR, with intentions to broaden its dark store network by the end of the current year. Notably, the startup claims its blended gross margin surpasses the typical margins seen among horizontal grocery quick commerce competitors.
Competitive Landscape
Kiddo finds itself in competition with other companies such as FirstCry, AllThingsBaby, and OZi within the baby and kids’ commerce sector. Gurugram-based OZi managed to secure $3.3 million in seed funding from Blume Ventures in October last year, followed by a Series A funding of $6.2 million led by RTP Global in March of this year. OZi provides more than 15,000 products with delivery promised within 60 minutes.
Other Players in Baby Care Quick Commerce
Bengaluru-based Peeko, another quick commerce platform focused on baby care, raised $3.2 million from Stellaris Venture Partners in August last year and subsequently secured Rs 67.4 crore in a Series A funding round led by Chiratae Ventures in August 2026. Peeko offers a range of products, including baby apparel, toys, gear, and consumables.
The market is also witnessing rapid developments with established players like FirstCry, who are enhancing their speedy delivery options in response to the burgeoning demand for convenience within the parenting arena.
