OTPless Expands Authentication Business with New CBO Appointment
Bengaluru-based identity and access management startup OTPless has promoted early team member Manas Poddar to the position of Chief Business Officer (CBO) as the company seeks to broaden its authentication operations into more extensive identity infrastructure. In his new role, Poddar will manage revenue streams, enterprise sales, and strategic partnerships within the startup.
Background of Manas Poddar
Poddar became part of OTPless in 2023 as one of the initial team members and has been leading the business vertical since then. Before his tenure at OTPless, he was with BharatPe from 2020 to 2022, where he contributed to the technical aspects of the PMC Bank revival and laid the groundwork for Unity Small Finance Bank.
Recent Leadership Changes at OTPless
This appointment follows OTPless’s recent decision to elevate its co-founders, Satyam Nathani and Tanmay Sagar, to the roles of CEO and COO, respectively, on September 18. Nathani and Sagar co-founded OTPless in 2023 after working as founding members at BharatPe.
Growth and Achievements
OTPless claims to have reached over 300 million authenticated users and generated ₹36 crore in annualised revenue, reflecting 2.5X year-on-year growth. Despite being a small team of 12, OTPless has reported profitability for the last two quarters.
Identity Solutions Offered by OTPless
The company delivers authentication and identity solutions to consumer-focused businesses using technologies such as Silent Network Authentication, WhatsApp Authentication, Device Intelligence, and Passkeys. The platform currently authenticates more than 300 million users, with prominent clients including Meesho, Zepto, Navi, PhysicsWallah, ShareChat, Shiprocket, and ixigo.
Funding and Support
OTPless has successfully secured $6.5 million in funding from various investors such as Venture Highway, White Venture, FJ Labs, SIDBI, and Piper Serica.
