IndigoTex: Innovative Textile Solutions from IIT Delhi
IndigoTex, an emerging deeptech textile startup originating from IIT Delhi, has secured Rs 5 crore in funding, spearheaded by IAN Angel Fund. The funding round also saw participation from SIDBI, FITT, and IIT Delhi Angels. These funds will be utilised to establish manufacturing processes, boost the sales and operations team, and commercialise their range of textile products.
About IndigoTex
Founded in 2024 by Satendra Singh, Prof. B.S. Butola, and Dilip Singh, IndigoTex is innovating in the field of waterless wool finishing technology and the creation of wool-based fabrics. Their flagship product, IndiWool Denim, merges wool with denim, offering a variety of options from lightweight fabrics suitable for varying weather conditions to wool-enriched textiles ideal for colder climates.
Technological Advancements
IndigoTex is also working on ECOTEX Wool, a new technology aimed at producing washable wool and poly-wool fabrics. The company has established a finishing facility located in the Rai Industrial Area of Sonipat, Haryana, while their research and development operations are ongoing at the Research and Innovation Park at IIT Delhi.
Collaborations and Market Expansion
The startup has entered into non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) with Ralph Lauren and Kering Group in France and is currently in talks with various premium and luxury brands, garment manufacturers, fabric exporters, and sourcing companies. Additionally, IndigoTex has initiated engagements in Europe and regions with colder climates, such as Australia, and is holding discussions with partners in countries like France, Russia, and Denmark.
Recognition and Opportunities
IndigoTex has achieved recognition by being selected as one of 120 startups for Bharat Innovates 2026 in Nice, France, as well as at the BRICS Summit 2026.
