Eternal Shares Overview

Eternal, the parent company of Zomato and Blinkit, recently witnessed a pivotal transaction as Goldman Sachs sold 53.37 lakh shares for Rs 168.67 crore via a block deal. BofA Securities purchased an equivalent number of shares on October 15. The exchange data indicates that Goldman Sachs disposed of 53,37,584 shares at a price of Rs 316 each, with BofA Securities acquiring the shares at that identical price. This transaction constituted approximately 0.05% of Eternal’s paid-up equity.

Investor Actions and Market Context

This transaction follows a notable trend, as significant investors had previously divested nearly Rs 3,265 crore worth of Eternal shares through bulk deals on August 31. BNP Paribas Financial Markets sold 5.09 crore shares valued at Rs 1,670.86 crore, while Integrated Core Strategies (Asia), associated with Millennium Management, offloaded 4.86 crore shares for Rs 1,593.96 crore.

Financial Performance of Eternal

Eternal reported an operational revenue of Rs 20,211 crore in Q1 FY27, marking a substantial increase from Rs 7,167 crore year-on-year. The net profit rose to Rs 92 crore from Rs 25 crore in the previous financial year. However, there was a decrease in profit from Rs 174 crore reported in the March quarter.

For FY26, Eternal’s revenue from operations escalated to Rs 54,364 crore compared to Rs 20,243 crore in FY25, though net profit saw a decline to Rs 366 crore from Rs 527 crore.

Business Operations of Eternal

Blinkit is positioned in a competitive marketplace, rivaling Swiggy Instamart and Zepto in India’s quick commerce sector, where businesses are actively enhancing their store networks to boost delivery capacity.
