Blacksmith Secures $66 Million in Series C Funding

Blacksmith, an AI code testing platform, has successfully raised $66 million in a Series C funding round spearheaded by Sequoia Capital, achieving a valuation of $1 billion. This funding round also included contributions from Premji Invest and existing investors like Peak XV Partners, Google Ventures (GV), and Y Combinator. With this latest influx, Blacksmith’s total funding reaches $125 million.

Funding History and Growth

The company previously secured $45 million in a Series B round led by Peak XV Partners, which valued it at $550 million. Blacksmith was launched in 2024 by co-founders Aditya Jayaprakash, Aayush Shah, and Aditya Maru, and it offers essential infrastructure for the development and testing of code.

Enhancements in Continuous Integration Workflows

Blacksmith’s platform supports continuous integration (CI) workflows, enabling developers to build and test software prior to merging code changes. The company has reported an impressive 17-fold increase in its annual recurring revenue (ARR) since January 2026. During the same timeframe, the weekly CI job count on the platform has surged from 5 million to over 90 million.

Cost Efficiency and Performance

Blacksmith claims that its platform executes CI jobs at twice the speed and with an average cost reduction of 60%. The platform is currently utilised by more than 10,000 companies, including notable firms such as Ashby, Granola, Handshake, and LangChain.

Infrastructure and Future Expansion

Managing nearly 10 megawatts of computing power across data centres located in the US and Europe, Blacksmith aims to expand its computing capabilities by at least five times by 2027. The company has stated that the new capital will be allocated towards scaling its team and enhancing its computing infrastructure.

Market Position and Demand

Operating within the software development infrastructure sector, Blacksmith is well-positioned to cater to the growing need for code testing and validation tools in conjunction with the rise of AI coding agents.
