Ather Energy Reports 63% Revenue Growth in Q2 FY27

Electric two-wheeler manufacturer Ather Energy has showcased an impressive 63% year-on-year surge in its operating revenue for Q2 FY27, attributed to rising demand for its electric two-wheelers. The company achieved a profit with a net gain of Rs 1.3 crore during this quarter. According to the quarterly financial figures submitted to the National Stock Exchange (NSE), Ather Energy’s revenue from operations climbed to Rs 1,464 crore in Q2 FY27, up from Rs 899 crore in the same quarter last year.

Sales Performance of Electric Two-Wheelers

The sales of electric two-wheelers and associated services constituted Ather Energy’s sole operational revenue source, although the company did not provide a detailed breakdown of this revenue. In this quarter, Ather Energy achieved sales of 90,768 units.

The company also reported Rs 62 crore in other income, which elevated its total income for the quarter to Rs 1,527 crore. When compared to Q1 FY27, Ather’s revenue displayed a quarterly increase of 20%, rising from Rs 1,217 crore.

Expenditure and Expenses Overview

Material costs, predominantly comprising battery cells and additional components, constituted Ather Energy’s largest expense. These costs escalated by 59% year-on-year, amounting to Rs 1,160 crore for Q2 FY27. Additionally, employee benefit expenses witnessed a 6% rise to reach Rs 121 crore during the quarter.

Other costs related to depreciation and amortisation, alongside expenditure on legal services, advertising, and other operational tasks, led to total expenses increasing from Rs 1,095 crore in the same quarter last year to Rs 1,526 crore in Q2 FY27.

Profitability and Market Standing

Enhanced sales of electric two-wheelers, along with a boost in other income, enabled Ather Energy to achieve profitability, recording a net profit of Rs 1.3 crore in Q2 FY27, in contrast to a net loss of Rs 154 crore in the corresponding quarter from last year. The firm more than doubled its vehicle sales, rising to 90,768 units from 52,961 units in Q2 FY26.

Ather Energy also turned EBITDA positive in Q2 FY27, reporting an EBITDA of Rs 11.6 crore with a margin of 0.79%.

According to Vahan data, Ather Energy retained its position in third place, garnering 30,479 registrations, which accounts for a 14.71% market share. Its registrations experienced a month-on-month increase of nearly 5% from 29,068 units in August.

As of 3 PM today, Ather Energy’s share price has surged by over 13% to Rs 1,562 per share, resulting in a market capitalisation of Rs 61,856 crore (around $6.5 billion).
