Docterz – Leading Healthcare Technology Startup Secures Funding
Docterz, a pioneering healthcare technology startup initiated by paediatrician Dr Atish Laddad, has successfully secured Rs 5 crore from approximately 35 investors, which notably includes medical professionals utilising its platform. A notable contribution came from around 20 physician users, who together provided nearly Rs 3 crore, making up roughly 60% of the total investment. The investors comprise influential figures such as Vineeta Singh, co-founder and CEO of SUGAR Cosmetics, along with Avnish Anand, co-founder and former CEO of CaratLane.
Funding Utilization Plans
The funding will be strategically allocated to facilitate organic expansion, investigate acquisition opportunities, and enhance AI tools tailored for healthcare professionals. Furthermore, the startup aspires to broaden its service offering among independent practitioners, small clinics, and healthcare organisations throughout India.
Comprehensive Healthcare Solutions
Having been established over a decade ago, Docterz provides an integrated solution encompassing electronic medical records, appointment scheduling, billing, vaccination management, and patient engagement tools. Its technology currently supports more than 5,000 doctors across India, with a robust focus on paediatrics.
Development of AI Tools
The company is actively working on AI-enabled tools intended to streamline documentation, administrative tasks, practice data analysis, and patient follow-ups for physicians.
Dr Dhananjay Sangle, a paediatrician and investor in Docterz, expressed that his decision to invest stemmed from his extensive experience with the platform over the years and his belief in the capabilities of its founder. Vineeta Singh noted that participation from customers in a funding round serves as a potent indicator of a successful business, emphasizing that the involvement of doctors in investing in Docterz highlights their confidence in both the platform and its leadership. Additionally, Dr Suhas Warad, another paediatrician and investor, remarked that technology crafted with the needs of doctors in mind could significantly enhance practice management, enabling more time to be devoted to patient care.
