15-Minute Food Delivery by Rebel Foods
Rebel Foods, a cloud kitchen unicorn, is entering the 15-minute food delivery market to challenge foodtech leaders like Zomato and Swiggy. In a recent LinkedIn update, Sagar Kochhar, co-founder and CEO of EatSure, revealed the launch of Rebel Foods’ 15-minute food delivery app, QuickiES.
Founded in 2011 by Jaydeep Barman and Kallol Banerjee, Rebel Foods manages a series of cloud kitchens and restaurants across various nations. The company runs multiple quick-service restaurant (QSR) brands, including Behrouz Biryani, Mandarin Oak, Oven Story Pizza, Sweet Truth, LunchBox, The Good Bowl, Firangi Bake, The Biryani Life, and Wendy’s.
Rebel Foods boasts over 450 cloud kitchens spread across India, the MENA region, Indonesia, the UK, and 75 Indian cities. In the financial year 2024, the company’s operational revenue rose to Rs 1,420 crore, while its losses decreased by more than 42% to Rs 378 crore during the same timeframe.
This Mumbai-based startup has secured $773 million in funding from investors including KKR, Temasek, Lightbox, and Evolvence, among others.
The instant food delivery sector is becoming increasingly crowded, with Zepto recently launching a dedicated app for Zepto Cafe, which promises 10-minute food deliveries. In parallel, Zomato-owned Blinkit has rolled out Bistro, a standalone app for immediate food delivery. Swiggy has also introduced its own independent app, SNACC, catering to 15-minute food delivery needs. Zomato is now involved in the quick food delivery space, while new players such as Swish, Magicpin, and Zing are on the rise.
