Astrome Technologies Secures $10 Million Funding
Astrome Technologies, a provider of e-band long-distance communication solutions, has successfully garnered $10 million in funding, spearheaded by Appollo Fund, alongside additional investments from IAN Group. This capital injection is set to propel Astrome’s cutting-edge wireless connectivity technologies, facilitate operational scaling, broaden product offerings, and enable entry into the satellite communication sector, as articulated in a recent press release.
The deep-tech startup had earlier secured $3.4 million in a bridge round, conducted in September 2021.
CEO Highlights Vision for Growth
Neha Satak, the Chief Executive Officer of Astrome, emphasised that the entry into the satellite communication market signifies a pivotal achievement of the company’s foundational vision, which centres on driving innovation and developing solutions that significantly improve global connectivity.
Innovative GigaMesh Technology
Astrome’s GigaMesh technology seamlessly integrates with optical fibre systems, enabling enhanced 5G and 6G connectivity. Key features include:
- Auto link alignment
- Point-to-multipoint connectivity
These characteristics facilitate:
- Accelerated deployment
- Reduction in costs
- Enhanced network performance
The company will soon introduce its innovative GigaMesh product to global markets through collaborations with international OEMs. Current E-band technology is constrained by expensive, mechanically aligned antennas, a challenge that GigaMesh is poised to address.
Enhancing Rural Connectivity
Astrome has made significant strides in improving rural connectivity in India by collaborating with the government to provide broadband access to remote villages. The company’s state-of-the-art technologies have gained the trust of prominent clients, including the Indian Army, Navy, and BSNL.
Financial Performance
For the fiscal year ending in March 2024, Astrome reported revenue of Rs 8.29 crore, a substantial increase from Rs 2.71 crore in the previous fiscal year. Additionally, the company saw a reduction in losses, decreasing to Rs 1.73 crore from Rs 4.93 crore over the same period.
