Zomato Introduces 15-Minute Food Delivery in Select Cities
Gurugram-based Zomato has launched a new 15-minute food delivery service in select cities, joining a growing number of companies venturing into the quick food delivery sector in recent months.
While several users have reported seeing the 15-minute delivery option on Zomato’s main application, an official announcement from the company, led by Deepinder Goyal, is still pending.
Previously, Zomato phased out its 10-minute delivery service in January 2023, following a year of trials in Bengaluru, Gurugram, and parts of Delhi. In a similar vein, Zomato’s subsidiary, Blinkit, launched a 10-minute food delivery service called Bistro last month.
The Competitive Landscape of Instant Food Delivery
The instant food delivery market is becoming increasingly competitive:
- Swiggy, Zomato’s main competitor, has already established its presence in this space with its service called Bolt.
- Zepto is set to introduce a dedicated app, Zepto Café, designed for 10-minute food deliveries.
- Magicpin has emerged as the latest player in the rapid food delivery market.
- New contenders like Swish and Zing are also gaining popularity.
