The fintech sector, which experienced significant growth during the pandemic and its immediate aftermath, faced considerable challenges in 2024, culminating in the sudden closure — followed by an unexpected acquisition — of the accounting startup Bench.
While the surge in funding has slowed, certain fintech companies continue to thrive and expand their workforce. A few months back, I issued a request for fintech companies that are hiring. Within just over an hour, I received more than a dozen responses. Over the following days, over 60 companies reached out. The high volume — and quality — of these replies even surprised me, given my regular engagement with this sector.
After revisiting this matter a few months later, it appears that while fintechs are still actively recruiting, many are no longer offering as many positions as they previously did. Nonetheless, numerous roles are still available, and some companies are even on the lookout for more talent than they were several months ago.
