Sustainable Infrastructure Investment by Actis in India
Sustainable infrastructure investor Actis recently announced the full acquisition of Stride Climate Investments in India. This significant move allows Actis to gain full control over Stride’s 371MW portfolio of active solar PV assets, which encompasses 21 projects across seven states, with a strong presence in Gujarat. The financial details of the acquisition have not been disclosed.
Actis has invested over $7.1 billion in Asia since its establishment through various strategies, establishing itself as a premier energy investor. The firm has successfully built or managed more than 8GW of installed capacity across the region, including over 5.5GW in renewable energy sources.
Additional Acquisitions by Actis
In addition to Stride, Actis has also acquired two other energy generation platforms in India: BluPine Energy and Athena Renewables. This expansion reflects Actis’ commitment to developing sustainable infrastructure.
Strategic Benefits of the Acquisition
The acquisition of Stride is in line with Actis’ strategic focus on long-life infrastructure investments. Stride boasts a decade-long operational record, impressive cash generation capabilities, and minimal leverage. Adrian Mucalov, Partner and Head of Long Life Infrastructure at Actis, emphasized that they view Stride as well-positioned to provide substantial cash yields to investors in a market that is both dynamic and rapidly expanding.
