Armory Secures Funding for Defence Technology Development

Defence-tech startup Armory has successfully acquired Rs 13 crore (approximately $1.5 million) in a funding round led by GrowX Ventures, with additional contributions from Industrial 47, Antler, AC Ventures, Dexter Ventures, and numerous angel investors. The funding will support R&D efforts, enhance manufacturing capabilities, and expedite deployment processes.

About Armory

Founded in 2024 by Amardeep Singh, Armory specialises in creating indigenous counter-drone systems (C-UAS) that can detect, track, and neutralise unauthorised drones. Its primary product, SURGE, has been tested in the field with various units of the Indian Army. Armory’s technology leverages Samaritan OS, an AI-driven defence operating system designed to provide real-time adaptability and continuous learning — characteristics that are lacking in conventional systems.

Recent Developments in Defence Startups

Earlier this month, the aerospace and defence startup Sanlayan Technologies secured Rs 186 crore ($22 million) in its Series A funding round, which was led by Ashish Kacholia. This exemplifies the growing interest and investment in defence technology startups in India.

GrowX Ventures’ Portfolio

GrowX Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm, has a diverse portfolio that includes innovative companies like Pixxel, Progcap, Pantherun, Bellatrix Aerospace, Wiom, Lightspeed Photonics, and CynLr.
