Fintech Growth: BharatPe Appoints New Leadership
Fintech platform BharatPe has significantly enhanced its leadership team by appointing Rajesh C as Head of Finance and Himanshu Nazkani as Head of Investments. These strategic additions occur as the firm gears up for its next growth phase.
Leadership in Finance
Rajesh C, overseeing finance, treasury, and taxation, comes with over twenty years of experience in areas such as financial planning, accounting, and regulatory reporting. His background includes leadership roles at SBI Card, ABN Amro-RBS, and GE Capital, where he was also part of the team managing SBI Card’s IPO.
Investment Strategy Development
In his role as Head of Investments, Himanshu Nazkani will lead BharatPe’s investment and insurance strategies while forging partnerships in mutual funds, digital gold, fixed deposits, and insurance sectors. His extensive experience in fintech, wealthtech, and venture capital includes contributions at CarDekho Group, NYE Money, Kristal.ai, Elevar Equity, and Religare Global Asset Management.
Funding and Profitability
This announcement coincides with BharatPe’s ongoing negotiations for a pre-IPO funding round. The company recently stated that it achieved profitability in FY25, reporting a profit before tax of Rs 6 crore (excluding ESOP costs) on revenues of Rs 1,800 crore. This marks a remarkable turnaround for a company that had faced losses for several years.
Recent Financial Milestones
BharatPe last raised equity in August 2021, during which it joined the unicorn club. Overall, it has gathered over $650 million in equity and debt funding from prominent investors, including Tiger Global, Dragoneer Investment Group, Steadfast Capital, Coatue Management, and Ribbit Capital.
Recent Appointments at BharatPe
In June, BharatPe appointed Siddhartha Jain as the Chief Network Officer (CNO). Additionally, the BharatPe NBFC arm, Trillionloans Fintech Private Limited (TFPL), welcomed Sandeep Singh as its new Chief Executive Officer in April this year.
