Blinkit Launches Quick Commerce Services in Jammu
On Sunday, the quick commerce platform Blinkit officially launched its services in Jammu, marking a significant step in expanding its operations. Currently, the company has three functioning stores, providing deliveries to various localities, including Trikuta Nagar, Roop Nagar, and Akhnoor Road.
“Blinkit is now delivering in Jammu! We are excited to serve customers in this region and bring our promise of quick and reliable deliveries to their doorsteps,” expressed Albinder Dhinsa, Founder and CEO of Blinkit, in a LinkedIn announcement.
Service Areas
The operational stores will serve specific areas as follows:
- Trikuta Nagar Store: Catering to Preet Nagar and Railhead Road.
- Roop Nagar Store: Delivering to Durga Nagar, Bhawaninagar, and Rehari Colony.
- Akhnoor Road Store: Covering similar localities.
Market Dynamics
This launch comes at a time when competition among quick commerce providers is intensifying. Companies like Zepto, Blinkit, and Swiggy Instamart are increasingly shaping the growth landscape of this sector.
In December 2024, Blinkit, which is owned by Zomato, appointed Vipin Kapooria as its Chief Financial Officer. Kapooria, who previously served as Vice President at Flipkart, will play a key role in enhancing Blinkit’s financial operations and scaling its growth plans.
Market Potential
Reports indicate that India’s quick commerce market is currently valued at approximately $3.34 billion. It is projected to escalate to $9.95 billion by 2029, showcasing a robust compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of over 4.5%. Despite this promising expansion, the quick commerce sector presently penetrates a mere 7% of its total addressable market, which is estimated to be around $45 billion. This indicates significant opportunities for further growth and development in this burgeoning industry.
