FreshToHome’s Financial Performance for FY25
FreshToHome, a direct-to-consumer meat and seafood brand, has demonstrated a slight enhancement in its financial results for the fiscal year ending March 2025. The company successfully increased its scale while maintaining a consistent level of loss during this period. FreshToHome’s gross revenue rose by 14% to Rs 421 crore in FY25, up from Rs 369.5 crore in FY24, as indicated by its financial documentation from the Registrar of Companies (RoC).
The brand primarily earns its revenue through sales of meat, seafood, and other fresh products on its platform. With the addition of non-operating income amounting to Rs 9 crore, its total income reached Rs 430 crore in FY25.
The cost of materials consumed was the most significant expense for the Bengaluru-based company, constituting over 83% of its total expenses. This cost increased by 5%, rising to Rs 481 crore in FY25 from Rs 458 crore in FY24. Meanwhile, employee benefit expenses saw a rise of 10% to Rs 33 crore, while advertising and promotional costs saw a notable decrease of 37%, falling to Rs 14.5 crore during the same period. Subscription costs remained steady at Rs 8 crore.
Other overhead expenses more than doubled, reaching Rs 33.5 crore in FY25. Overall, FreshToHome’s total expenses rose by 6%, amounting to Rs 576 crore in FY25, compared to Rs 542 crore in FY24.
Regarding their bottom line, FreshToHome reported a net loss of Rs 146 crore for FY25, slightly down from Rs 150 crore in FY24, indicating a modest decrease of 2.7% in losses. The company’s return on capital employed (ROCE) and EBITDA margin stood at -107.64% and -36.58%, respectively.
On a unit basis, FreshToHome spent Rs 1.37 to generate one rupee in revenue, an improvement from Rs 1.47 in FY24. The firm reported cash and bank balances of Rs 42 crore, while its current assets were valued at Rs 73.5 crore at the conclusion of FY25.
According to various sources, FreshToHome has secured over $320 million in funding to date. In its most recent funding round, FreshToHome raised $104 million in Series D funding, spearheaded by Amazon Smbhav Venture Fund.
