The Maha Kumbh
The Maha Kumbh, recognized as one of the largest spiritual gatherings globally, is taking place at the Triveni Sangam, where the Ganga, Yamuna, and the legendary Saraswati rivers meet, in Prayagraj. This grand event attracts millions of pilgrims who seek a holy dip in the Sangam, aspiring for ‘Moksha’ and to purify their sins in the hallowed waters. The festivities began on January 13 and will run until February 26.
Within the first two days, nearly 50 million individuals attended the Maha Kumbh. The Uttar Pradesh government, which is responsible for hosting the event, anticipates an overall attendance of between 400 million and 450 million visitors throughout the entire Mela period.
