Gut Clinic Secures $1 Million in Seed Funding for Gastro-Metabolic Healthcare Expansion

Healthcare platform Gut Clinic has successfully raised $1 million, approximately Rs 9 crore, during a seed funding round that featured a strategic alliance of more than 15 investors. Notable contributors include Amitoj Singh, Aman Rajpal, Ankur Kathuria from Alpha Wave Global, Juhi Bhatnagar, and Deepak Garg. The funding will go towards establishing new centres, enhancing clinical systems, and broadening diagnostic capabilities within India’s $197 billion preventive healthcare sector, as reported in a company press release.

Founded in 2024 by Akshat Kumar, Gut Clinic runs specialised outpatient centres concentrating on gastroenterology, liver, and metabolic health. The clinics provide a range of services including consultations, endoscopies, colonoscopies, advanced gastrointestinal diagnostics, and clinical nutrition, catering to patients looking for specialist care beyond traditional hospital environments.

Market research indicates that approximately 70 million Indians face lifestyle-related digestive and metabolic disorders. Gut Clinic operates under an outpatient and day-care model, integrating its clinics within hospitals to address gastrointestinal, liver, and metabolic issues. The startup is committed to patient-focused care, utilising clinical expertise, technology-driven infrastructure, digital marketing, local engagement, and partnerships to enhance awareness and health outcomes related to digestion.

Currently, Gut Clinic is operational in the Delhi NCR region, with plans to extend its reach to Chandigarh, Punjab, and various locations in Northern India. The organization aims to establish over 20 centres in the near to medium term, aspiring to become India’s largest gastro-metabolic healthcare platform prioritising early diagnosis, protocol-driven treatment, and comprehensive disease management.
