Luma Fertility Secures 4 Million in Funding for Growth
Luma Fertility, a pioneering force in fertility-tech, has successfully raised 4 million in seed funding, primarily spearheaded by Peak XV’s Surge. The funding round also saw participation from notable figures such as Ameera Shah from Metropolis Healthcare and Vijay Taparia from B2V Ventures.
This capital will enable Luma to broaden its reach in Mumbai and extend into new urban areas over the upcoming two years.
About Luma Fertility
Founded by Neha K. Motwani, Luma Fertility offers comprehensive fertility solutions, including IVF, egg and embryo freezing, fertility evaluations, and pre-conception support. Motwani previously established the fitness platform Fitternity, which was acquired by Cult.fit (previously known as Cure.fit) in February 2021.
Flagship Clinic and Innovative Services
Luma has unveiled its flagship clinic, a spacious 6,000 sq ft facility in Bandra, Mumbai, equipped with advanced technology. The clinic also promotes holistic approaches, incorporating services such as nutrition advice, IV therapy, acupuncture, and in-home semen testing.
The IVF Companion App
The platform features an IVF companion app offering tools for tracking the fertility journey, receiving real-time reports, and utilising LumaAI—a 24/7 assistant for cycle guidance and medication management. The clinic is designed with an open lab concept, emphasising transparency and ensuring a dedicated care team is available for each patient.
Market Insights and Expansion Plans
Current market research indicates a decline in India’s fertility rate, dropping below replacement levels (from 2.1 to 1.9). IVF cycles are expected to increase from 320K in 2024 to 550K by 2028, suggesting a growing demand for fertility services.
Luma Fertility is also focused on expanding its offerings in egg and embryo freezing, targeting urban millennials and Gen Z who are opting to postpone parenthood.
